In their visit to the Washington, the delegation of the Kurdistan Region led by the Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region’s Security Council (KRSC) Masrour Barzani met a number of current United States administration officials and advisers to the president-elect of the US.
Masrour Barzani is accompanied by Fuad Hussein, the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of Kurdistan Region and Bayan Sami Abulrahman, the KRG High Representative to US.
On Monday Masrour Barzani met with US deputy Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and emphasized on the strong bilateral relations between Erbil and Washington. They also discussed the war against ISIS, the Iraqi and Middle East situation. Masrour Barzani stressed on the partnership of Peshmerga and Kurdistan with the US and the world in the war against terrorism.
The delegation from the Kurdistan Region also met with Elissa Slotkin, the Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs. Both discussed the mechanisms for increasing Pentagon military assistances for the Peshmerga in the war against ISIS.
Also in Washington, Masrour Barzani met with US president-elect Middle East Adviser Walid Phares to discuss the Middle East situation and the future of Kurdistan.
