The Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region’s Security Council, Masrour Barzani, explained the financial crisis in the Kurdistan Region in detail to the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Fumio Iway. The marginalization of Kurds and cutting-off the share of Kurdistan Region compels the Kurds to look for alternatives, he said of the relations between Erbil-Baghdad.
The Japanese Ambassador appreciated the sacrifices that Kurds give in the war against ISIS terrorists and applauded the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region. “This is the safest place of Iraq,” said the Ambassador, adding: “The stability of Kurdistan is the stability key for Kurdistan and also for Japan’s energy needs.”
The meeting focused on expanding Japan’s role in developing Kurdistan, especially in the reconstructing of liberated areas from ISIS.
