Masrour Barzani said that Baghdad has failed to implement the constitutional commitments with regards to paying Kurdistan’s share of budget and support for the Peshmarga. “The international community must either accept the diversity of Iraq’s communities, including Kurdistan, or endure another 100 years of failure,” he said referring to failure of Iraqi’s political process

He also informed the Ambassador that the people of Kurdistan Region have a natural right to determine their future in a referendum.

He also emphasized that ISIS presence in Mosul is a national security threat to the Region and reaffirmed that Kurdistan Region will play a key part in the Mosul Liberation Process. He said, however, ISIS is still intact. “It has at least 9,000 fighters defending Mosul. The support to Peshmarga is to contain group, not to outgun the enemy.”
